Kara is the Founder of Impact Governance Pty Ltd which she established in 2021 to partner with, and provide consulting services to, clients who are looking for fit for purpose, scalable, impactful, and meaningful risk and governance initiatives and solutions. Impact Governance also trades as Governance on Purpose to provide support to NFP and social enterprises.
Until 2021, Kara spent over 27 years in senior executive roles in global equity capital markets, commercial, regulatory, and corporate compliance roles spanning across large ASX listed, unlisted entities, NFP, and start up entities. She brings extensive knowledge of governance, risk, company compliance and broad industry experience across financial services (banking and investment
banking), retail, property, higher education, industrial (oil, mining and manufacturing), NFP, and at the Australian Securities Exchange (primary and secondary capital markets).
Previously she has held roles as Chair and Independent, Non-Executive Director of Gidget Foundation Australia, a non-profit organisation supporting the emotional wellbeing of expectant & new parents, and Chair of the Nominations Committee, and Member of the Department of Accounting and Corporate Governance Advisory Board for Macquarie University.
In addition to her role as a Non-Executive Director of Ripple Learning, Kara is a Non-Executive Director of Zoom2u Technologies Limited (ASX:Z2U), Chair of its Audit & Risk Committee, and a member of its Sustainability Committee. Kara is also the inaugural member of the Australian Medical Association’s (NSW) Audit & Risk Committee.
Kara was raised in Guyra NSW and is an advocate for the provision of services to rural and remote regions. She is a JP, has a Masters in Legal Studies, and a Business degree.
